Josef Rother

For several years now, German scribe Josef Rother has been a regular contributor of horror stories to Kevin Eastman’s Heavy Metal Magazine and has collaborated with such international stars as David (V for Vendetta) Lloyd.
Josef penned scripts for the German edition of Mad Magazine and created the controversial Father Dracula series that presents the exploits of a certain vampire lord after his conversion to Catholiscm. These days the old bloodsucker only drinks the communion wine, the transubstantiated Blood of Christ, thus nourishing to vampires as well, and together with Reverend Van Helsing, he has battled such menaces as Saint Frankenstein, The Relic That Walks Like A Man.
Apart from writing comics, Josef has translated Star Wars, Star Trek and Stargate magazines into the German tongue, as well as loads of comics, including the adventures of the Flash, Superman, Batman and many other DC superheroes. Josef also put German words into the mouth of Alan Moore’s Swamp Thing.

Eckart Breitschuh

Freelance illustrator and writer Eckart Breitschuh lives in Hamburg, Germany, with webdesigner Lorraine Flack and their 3 children.
He made his comic book debut drawing Lindenstrasse, a cartoon version of Germany’s most popular soap opera. Five books were published between 1991 and 1995.
1997 saw Breitschuh’s first effort as a writer, Irma Corridor: Red Light District Cannibals, published by Zwerchfell Verlag.
In 1998/99, the 4-part mini-series Wanda Caramba: Dying For A Screw established Breitschuh’s buxom crimefighter Wanda Caramba as a household name with Germany’s comic reading public.
The sequel, Wanda Caramba: Bear Cage, won him the prestigious ICOM Independent Comic Award in 2001 for Best Script.
Other comic book accomplishments include Grimm, a new look at the notorious Brothers’ fairytales (which grabbed the ICOM for Best Script in 2002), and Apocalypse: The Revelation of John, a project with theologian Dr Andreas Köhn, which is currently stuck in the concept phase, but will be realized soon..
In June 2005, Eckart’s first collaboration with writer Josef Rother, A Mother’s Love, was published by Heavy Metal Magazine.
