Freelance illustrator and writer Eckart Breitschuh lives in Hamburg, Germany, with webdesigner Lorraine Flack and their 3 children.
He made his comic book debut drawing Lindenstrasse, a cartoon version of Germany's most popular soap opera. Five books were published between 1991 and 1995.
1997 saw Breitschuh's first effort as a writer, Irma Corridor: Red Light District Cannibals, published by Zwerchfell Verlag.
In 1998/99, the 4-part mini-series Wanda Caramba: Dying For A Screw established Breitschuh's buxom crimefighter Wanda Caramba as a household name with Germany's comic reading public.
The sequel, Wanda Caramba: Bear Cage, won him the prestigious ICOM Independent Comic Award in 2001 for Best Script.
Other comic book accomplishments include Grimm, a new look at the notorious Brothers' fairytales (which grabbed the ICOM for Best Script in 2002), and Apocalypse: The Revelation of John, a project with theologian Dr Andreas Köhn, which is currently stuck in the concept phase, but will be realized soon..
In June 2005, Eckart's first collaboration with writer Josef Rother, A Mother's Love, was published by Heavy Metal Magazine.
